It could have been epic.
Unfortunately eating live octopus loses its novelty in 10 seconds flat. I’m not a tiger. I don’t like to play with my food before I eat it. I like it dead. Don’t let the video fool you. Once you poke those lil suckers (no pun intended), it fights for dear life. It clings onto the plate in despair and sucks onto your tongue, roof of your mouth, teeth.. .anything it can cling on to avoid the inevitable.
Fortunately you are the human. and you are in charge. You bite and chew until there’s no more life and then you swallow him into the dark abyss of your stomach.
Repeat.

Fortunately this trip wasn’t an entire fluke as I finally got to taste fresh uni! I LOVE UNI! UNI UNI UNI!! OMGZOMG! Despite its horrendous spiky shell, there lies its sweet sweet essence. Oh I love you uni.
