    Stalk me

It’s never too much when it comes to luxury. or love.

Last month I was scoping out romantic getaways (total fail. but thank god) and just for your planning purposes. I picked the following three for YOU to choose from:

    1) Shade in Manhattan Beach — romantic, hidden luxury boutique hotel (lots of cougars tho). Has two person hot tub in room and delivers champagne by request. Very classy and masculine enough that your boy won’t feel like you’re trying to roleplay Sleeping Beauty (could be sexy tho). It is recommended that you DO NOT get rooms on the first floor or anywhere by the lounge as its LOUD. Unless you’re loud. Then sucks for them but eh. Try and get rooms in the 200s facing the ocean. Internet prices will cost you about $275 a night while getting a better room (it’s worth it no?) will run you about $575 a night.

    2) Portofino in Redondo Beach - this was my 2nd choice. Baleen inside is a nice restaurant but I felt that the Portofino wasn’t romantic enough or sexy enough for my taste. Still, the Portofino remains one of my most favorite hotels in California. It’s perfect for events, engagment parties, a nice getaway, and just a nice place to lounge by the beach and the pool. Actually, came (crashed) a friend’s engagement party past weekend and thank you open bar. Management is nice enough to escort you out after you popped too much bubbly and for some reason end up half naked in the pool. Not that it happened.

    Cost - $200/night.

    3) The Langham in Pasadena - my final choice recommended by a friend and the one I would have chosen. It is on 23 acres overlooking San Marino. Pure luxury. Pure indulgence. A real getaway compared to the other two without leaving ‘LA’ per se. You want to put “I love you” in action? The Langham. Another selling point for me was the Michelin star restaurant (The Dining Room) on premise. Romantic. Perfect. Cost? Regular rooms are about 500 a night while corner suites are 800-1000. Totally worth it though.

Ha! Sorry guys. I started this wanting to review the Portofino but there isn’t too much to write. or that I remember from that night.

    xoxo
